The MeiYu Story
MeiYu began in Kaohsiung in 2017, when founder Mei-Ling Chen noticed something consistent among her clients: arriving at salons feeling hurried rarely led to feeling beautiful. The commute, the unfamiliar environment, the waiting â these things added up. She started offering home visits as an experiment.
The response was immediate. Clients said they felt calmer. They were more willing to speak honestly about what they wanted. The results were better, and the experience more meaningful. Within a year, home visit services had become MeiYu's entire focus.
Today, MeiYu operates across Greater Kaohsiung with a small team of trained makeup artists who share Mei-Ling's approach: listen carefully, work at the client's pace, and match technique to the actual occasion rather than a general standard. Whether a family is preparing for reunion photography, a performer is stepping onto a stage, or someone simply wants to look present during their morning walk, the care and attention applied is the same.

Trained in breathable, skin-kind application techniques. Known for the thoughtful adjustments she makes to suit each client's texture and tone.
Ting-Yi Wu
Artist â Groups & Coordination
Manages back-to-back family session scheduling with calm efficiency. Has coordinated makeup for over two hundred family reunion gatherings.
How We Work
Our Standards
Every home visit follows a set of practices that protect both our clients and the quality of the work.
Hygiene Protocol
All brushes and tools are cleaned and sanitised between each client. Single-use applicators are standard for eye and lip work. Products are never shared between clients.
Product Selection
We select products suited to Taiwan's climate and humidity. Lightweight, breathable formulas for daytime use and long-lasting options for performance and event settings.
Pre-Visit Consultation
Every booking begins with a brief exchange about the occasion, skin preferences, and any sensitivities. This shapes the product choices and timing before we arrive.
Privacy in Your Home
We treat each client's home with discretion and respect. No photography is taken without consent. Client information is held privately and not shared with third parties.
Punctuality
We communicate travel time clearly and arrive within the scheduled window. If any delay occurs, we notify the client as early as possible and adjust accordingly.
Ongoing Training
Our artists participate in periodic professional development to stay current with application techniques, product formulations, and approaches suited to diverse skin types and tones.

Kaohsiung's port city character â warm, direct, community-oriented â shapes the way MeiYu operates. Clients here value honesty over flattery and practical results over extravagant promises. The sub-tropical climate presents particular considerations for makeup longevity. We approach each season and occasion with awareness of heat, humidity, and activity level, selecting products and techniques that hold well without compromising skin comfort.
From Sanmin District, we reach clients preparing for Lunar New Year family portraits, local theater productions, early morning trail walks, and everything in between. Our work is most satisfying when clients feel like a better version of themselves â not a different person altogether.
